Wire Coats Explained
Wire coats have a rough outer coating of tough hair that is harsh and wiry. You’ll note that these coats have a distinct feel than a smooth or medium coat, which is velvety and silky. Wire coatings necessitate a little more attention than standard brushing. Because these coats don’t shed, you’ll need to pluck off the old, dead hairs to keep them healthy and in shape. It’s best to book in often with us to keep your dog in top condition.
Breeds with this coat include:
- Jack Russell Terrier
- Kerry Blue Terrier
- West Highland White Terrier
