Lew’s Dog Grooming Cornwall
To make your dog as relaxed as possible throughout the grooming session, we provide a clean, comfortable studio environment. Your dog will be given fresh cool drinking water during its time with us. Regular breaks are provided to make your dog as stress-free as possible. If you’re a new customer, we recommend bringing your dog to meet us before scheduling a session. We’d love to have you as a regular customer, and we can help you with your dog’s coat management in the long run. We are properly qualified and covered by insurance. Not to mention the fact that we adore dogs!
Will my dog stay with you all day?
Most of our appointment slots are between 30 and 90 minutes, depending on the grooming service you choose. We are a 1 to 1 grooming studio, therefore promote drop-off and pick-up is essential.
How do I know your studio is safe?
Our purpose-built grooming studio has a double-door entry door system with full security. We have full HD CCTV throughout the studio, including the grooming and bathing area, providing full transparency and safety assurance. Whilst your dog is waiting to be groomed, they are provided with a comfy bed and freshwater. After the grooming session, and they are waiting for you to collect, your dog will again wait in a comfortable bed with a water supply. We pride ourselves on having a clean, comfortable studio, and we work hard to ensure the grooming areas are sanitized between sessions.
Can you clip my dog short all over?
We do our very best to clip your dog to your instructions as much as possible. You are welcome to book a free consultation or when booking in, we can fully discuss the different lengths that we can achieve, to ensure we get the best length to suit your dog.
Can you detangle matted hair on my dog?
While we do our best to save as much coat as possible, if a dog is matted solid then we must comply with the animal welfare act (need to be protected from pain, suffering, injury and disease) and this will result in a short clip.
It depends on the complexity of the matting, and it is best to book a free consultation to discuss the best method to remove matting.
What does a full groom include?
Our full groom includes a free consultation, a warm double shampoo wash using all natural Wild Wash products, blast and fluff dry, nails clipped, ears cleaned, hair cut required/hand strip/ de-shed and perfume/cologne at the end of the groom.
What else do you offer?
We offer a walk-in service for nail clipping & tick removal. Please call us and we can discuss your requirements.
We will be adding teeth cleaning & micro-chipping to our services in late 2021.
Is it easy to find you & is there parking facilities?
Our grooming studio is located on Church Road in Pool, next too Pool School. We have a large free car parking facility with easy access to the studio.

Is your studio cool on hot days?
Our studio is a large open space with plenty of through breeze from half doors, windows, and fans. We provide fresh cool water to each dog that enters the studio. The welfare of all dogs that enter our studio is our highest priority, we also train our staff to recognize and treat any signs of heat stress.
Are your groomers qualified?
Lew is the founder & sole 1 on 1 groomer at the studio, with over 8 years in professional dog salons with a level 3 City and Guilds in dog grooming.
Are you regularly trained?
Whenever possible, Lew likes to attend seminars provided by some of the biggest names in the grooming industry so that he can update and further his training.
Can my nervous dog still be groomed?
Although not all dogs enjoy grooming, we strive to make it a less frightening experience for them. If your dog is particularly averse to grooming, we can strive to re-sensitize him. We’re prepared to put in the time to make a dog less afraid of the whole process, even if it means a few appointments and some training at home.
My dog can be aggressive can they still be groomed?
ALL canines are welcome to use our grooming services. We understand that some dogs are a little aggressive, and we try our best to accommodate such personalities at Lews Dog Groomers.
If your dog is aggressive, it’s possible that they’re scared and just need a few trips to the studio to look about and meet the groomers to feel at ease.
We invite you and your dog to come in for a free consultation to determine the best course of action for your dog. There are measures we can utilise, like muzzles, to keep your dog safe while at the studio so that aggressive behaviour is avoided.
At what age should I get my puppy groomed?
We adore puppies! Your puppy is welcome here as soon as he or she has had his or her puppy immunizations; the earlier the better, as we will have more opportunity to ease the puppy into it gradually. When they need a full groom, they can learn about the equipment piece by piece rather than all at once.
Do you groom Cats?
Unfortunately, we are a dog-only grooming studio at the moment.
